The kit contains:
a reusable plastic sashiko stencil which enables you to make as many as brooches as you want with your own materials!
indigo plant-dyed sashiko fabric
fusible (iron-on) fleece batting
Sashiko needle and threads (both 4-ply and 6-ply thread in different colours, including our popular shibori plant-dyed thread)
Sewing thread
Heat erasable pen refill in white
4 pins for brooch (the pin with pearl comes in silver or gold, and will be dispatched randomly unless specified)
***Please notice the embroidery hoop is optional and NOT included in the kit. It is recommended for beginners, as it will make the embroidery of French Knot much easier. However, it is not essential and the brooches can be made without using any hoop.
If you are a beginner or planning to make many of these brooches, we recommend purchasing the hoop. It measures around 8cm in diameter for the inner circle. It can also be used for many of our other small projects and will be an useful item in your tool box.
